how do we secure our date with you? first step is to contact us, we will take it from there - we'll get back to you promptly to review your details and desires. booking us and securing your date is fast and easy: after we talk through your wedding details, we will send you a quote electronically which you can accept and e-sign your contract, and pay your retainer online - that process takes just a few minutes. to be fair to all prospective clients, we can't hold any dates without a signed contract and retainer.
how far in advance should we book you? we receive inquires up to two years in advance, and often multiple inquires for the same popular dates. we recommend you start thinking about a photographer as soon as your date is set. remember, since your photographer can go to any venue, you don't need to wait to book the venue before booking your photographer - the date is the most important thing to a photographer...unlike a caterer that can make more food, or a florist who can make more flower arrangements, a photographer can't make more time - once they are booked for a date, they are no longer available to you. don't be disappointed! book early, get the photographer you want.
why is an initial consultation important? our first step is meet with you, in person or virtually by Skype or Google Hangouts, or phone, to discuss your vision for your wedding photography and what features you desire in your wedding collection. we will also want to understand how you are thinking about using your photos...from beautiful heirloom quality wedding albums to custom wall art for your home, to on-line galleries to share with friends and family, and the right digital files. we are a full service wedding photographer - we will help you through every step of the process.
can we get digital files of our photos? all of our wedding collections include high-resolution digital files for your personal use. your photos will also be available in an online gallery for you to share with friends and family. your family/friends also will be able to order their own copies of digital files, from a single photo to a bunch, directly from your online gallery, as well as prints from our professional partner labs, shipped directly to them.
how many photos will you take for our wedding? we will take many more photos that you will ever want or need, we don't have a limit or charge extra for taking more photos. we take lots of photos to ensure we have a good selection to choose from and to make sure we get the right expressions (the ones with your eyes open), and the ones that capture the emotion of the day. you would be amazed how a subtle glance can tell a story! it is not uncommon for us to take a few thousand photos during a wedding and reception. we typically deliver 400-800 finished photos (depending on the length of the wedding), wedding albums will typically need 75 to 150 of your photos to tell the story of your day. we will take some photos with specific purposes in mind as well, for example those epic images that you might want on your wall or as a big spread in your album.
do you offer wedding albums? yes! after consulting with you and providing you with our numerous wedding album options, we will design your album using your favorite photos from wedding, reception, and even the rehearsal and after shoot if you like. you will have the opportunity to proof and make changes to the design before we have it printed. we have searched and consulted with many of our wedding photographer colleagues and have chosen a short list of the premier wedding album printers on the planet. our albums are handmade and designed to last 100 years, something your grandchildren will be able to enjoy.
do you use professional equipment? of course! we only use professional-grade cameras and lenses from Canon, and a variety of professional lighting and tools to create beautiful images. we maintain our equipment to ensure proper operation and optimum results.
do you have back-up equipment? yes! we never leave home without it! let's face it - mechanical and electronic equipment can fail. on your wedding day, there are no "do-overs", we have back ups for virtually everything we use...cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards, flash equipment.
do you have insurance? yes we do, and we have never had to use it. many wedding and reception venues will require your vendors, even your photographer, to have insurance. it's just part of doing business these days.
